The purpose of the Friends of the Library is to promote the welfare of the library, to increase its facilities and services, and to enrich the cultural opportunities available to Forest Park residents.
You may become a member by simply joining at any level shown below. In addition, if you wish you may volunteer to help maintain certain areas of the library, such as the Book Sale table or special Friends’ projects.

There will be an Open House in the Library on Thursday, October 23rd during National Friends of Libraries Week.

Friends of the Library Activities
- Annual subscription to BookPage, one of America’s premiere book review sources – published monthly.
- 2001 donation of the highly acclaimed New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, 2nd edition (29 volume set).
- Donation of a large magnifying reading machine for in-library use & 3 portable magnifiers for patron checkout.
- Cash donations for various library programs and the purchase of new books and other materials for the circulation collections.
- Sponsorship of several Youth Services programs.
- The Friends’ main fund-raising activity is our semi-annual Book Sale. We also maintain a perpetual Book Sale Table near the Circulation Desk. Book, video and audio donations are welcome throughout the year.
